Cabinda, October 10 2023 – Chevron’s subsidiary in Angola, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC) donated diversified school sports equipment to the Cabinda Provincial Secretariat of Education. The package includes 300 athletic bags, 2350 balls for 5 different sports, 2765 items of sports gear among other items.
This donation will benefit around 27,000 students registered in different schools at Cabinda province, giving them the opportunity to participate in physical activities and school sports, thus improving the development of their motor, physical and emotional skills.
The donation is aligned with CABGOC's social investment strategy, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the education sector in the province.
“Sport isn't just a good way to keep children's bodies healthy; it also has psychological benefits and teaches them important life skills. By playing sports, children develop physical skills, exercise, make new friends, have fun, learn to be team members, learn about play fair, improve self-esteem, among other benefits”, stated Luisa Nunes, CABGOC’s Corporate Affairs Manager in Cabinda.

In the past 25 years, Chevron has committed over US $240 million in social investment projects in Angola.
