press release CABGOC showcases the lifua A project to the president of the republic

Cabinda, April 22, 2022 - Chevron’s affiliate in Angola, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (“CABGOC”) presented the LIFUA A project to His Excellency, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, the President of the Republic of Angola (“Angola”), today at the Malongo Camp in Cabinda. Lifua A is the first field developed using the application of the factory model, which focuses on delivering a low cost, short cycle, and economic development of new fields leveraging spare capacity in CABGOC’s existing infrastructures. This approach provides CABGOC and its partners the opportunity to optimize Block 0 production, promote the local economy, and to have a direct impact on the capacity development of the Cabinda community through the local fabrication of the Lifua A platform.

“We are pleased with the opportunity to continue to partner with the Government of Angola and our Block 0 associates to apply our industry-leading exploration and production capabilities in Angola, where we have had a presence for more than 60 years,” said Billy Lacobie, Managing Director of Chevron’s Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit. “Lifua A’s platform which is a stacked template structure (STS) was locally fabricated in Malembo and is currently being assembled right here in CABGOC’s Malongo Camp in Cabinda.”

During the event, the President of Angola held a symbolic signing ceremony in which his name was engraved in one of the Lifua A platform’s panels. Other participants in the event included the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, Governor of the Province of Cabinda, Marcos Alexandre Nhunga, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Diamantino Azevedo, and several other members of the Government of Angola.
