Block 0 members invest over USD 156,000.00 to support fishermen in Cabinda
CABINDA, January 11, 2019 - Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, Limited (CABGOC), a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, on behalf of Block 0 Associates (Sonangol EP, Total and ENI) announces the donation of fishing boats and engines to Associations of Fishermen in Cabinda.
This investment is valued at over USD 150,000.00 to equip fishermen with engines and motorized vessels for fishing, as well as improving search and rescue conditions through the provision of two rescue boats.
This donation is part of CABGOC's ongoing commitment to support initiatives that will add value to the community.
"We invest in programs to improve the well-being and quality of life of the communities where we operate. We work with our partners and the Government to support initiatives that build capacity and deliver real and lasting gains," said Lwena Sebastião, CABGOC’s Director of Policy, Government and Public Affairs.
The event was attended by representatives of the Cabinda Province Government, members of the Board of Directors of CABGOC and Associates of Block 0, representatives of Fishermen's Associations, among other individuals.
