press release chevron wins golden lion at 2018 FILDA event

Chevron was present at this year’s 34th edition of FILDA, Luanda’s International Fair. FILDA is one of Angola’s most important annual events, which gives companies the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders and promote their latest achievements and projects that are fostering the economic development of the country.

Furthermore, FILDA promotes foreign investment in Angola and serves as a chance for businesses to establish partnerships between international companies and Angola’s public and private sectors.

Chevron’s exhibit booth showcased the history and accomplishments of the company, with special emphasis on the recent Angola economic impact study. The panels displayed the commitment of the company to further improve the quality of life of the communities where it operates by exhibiting pictures and infographics that highlighted operations, local content, angolanization, social projects and the economic impact study.

On the Inauguration Day of the event, Chevron’s booth was visited by Pedro Luis da Fonseca, Minister of Economy and Planning; Archer Mangueira, Minister of Finance; Ricardo Abreu, Minister of Transport, and Bernarda Goncalves Martins, Minister of Industry.

First Lady Ana Dias Lourenco visited Chevron’s booth on Angola day. She was guided by Artur Custodio, Non-operated Assets and Asset Retirement general manager, and was especially impressed with one of our social investment panels, which brought special attention to several initiatives that Chevron has had in Angola over the years.

On Oil Day, which focused on the oil and gas industry, Chevron was visited by Jânio Correia Victor, Secretary of State of Geology and Mines; Carlos Saturnino, Sonangol CEO; and Sonangol board members. They were guided through the booth by Judy Moses, Asset Development general manager.
