Luanda, June 24,  2023 – Chevron's subsidiary in Angola, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC), hosted an event on behalf of Muhatu Energy Angola at Miradouro da Lua in Luanda.  

The event was set against the backdrop of the energy industry's commitment to environmental preservation, with June's "international environment month" as a common thread. In addition, the event aimed to promote women's empowerment, diversity and inclusion among Muhatu members. 

At Miradouro da Lua, a tourist center committed to the preservation and sustainability of the area, the activity consisted of a mentoring, networking and tree planting session to contribute to the Angolan government's stated commitment to plant 1 billion trees by 2030.

Attendees of the event were members of Muhatu Energy Angola, a newly created group of professional women in Angola's energy industry. Muhatu's goals include promoting women's empowerment and skills development through the sharing of experiences among members, discussions, workshops, conferences, and other activities. CABGOC is a member of Muhatu's board of directors, which is currently chaired by the national concessionaire, the National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG).
