press release CABGOC donates ambulances to cacongo and cabinda administrations, in cabinda
Cabinda, March 16, 2023 – Chevron’s subsidiary in Angola, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (“CABGOC”) donated two ambulances to the Administrations of Cabinda and Cacongo municipalities in the province of Cabinda along with masks and a package of training on Basic Life Support for the Cabinda General Hospital. The donation is aligned with CABGOC's social investment strategy, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the health sector in the province.
The hand-over of the vehicles took place at the Hospital 28 de Agosto in Cabinda in the presence of the Governor of the province, Mara Quiosa, several members of her staff, and CABGOC’s Managing Director, Billy Lacobie.
“Transportation is essential for people to be able to access healthcare services. Many people living in Cabinda must travel long distances to reach health facilities and hospitals, which can be very difficult, particularly for the elderly, disabled and for emergency cases. These vehicles will support the mobility of the patients in need of care in Cabinda and Cacongo and facilitate supervision in health centers and hospitals”, stated Mr. Lacobie.
CABGOC has been operating in Angola for over 60 years. In the past 25 years, CABGOC has invested over US $250 MM in community projects that contribute to the social and economic development of the community, particularly in Cabinda.
