LUANDA, JUNE 6, 2017 – The subsidiary of Chevron in Angola, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC), signed a memorandum of understanding today with the Catholic University of Luanda. This partnership aims to assist students at this institution, motivating them and giving them the opportunity to interact with professionals from the petroleum industry through scientific and technological research forums and internships.
"We will continue to invest in training personnel specializing in geosciences in Angola. Academic training is the pillar of a country and at Chevron we believe it is our obligation to contribute to training these future personnel and being able in this way to add technicians instructed and trained in Angola to the company's current workforce," said Henda Valerio, Director of Human Resources at Chevron in Angola.
This effort has come to strengthen Chevron's investment in academic training, reinforcing Chevron's role as contributor to the training of specialized personnel in Angola. The partnership will benefit students in the 4th and 5th year of the petroleum engineering program as well as other programs related to the oil and gas industry.
