CABINDA, September 5, 2017 – Chevron - Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC) today announced the donation of a basic food basket to 14 charitable institutions belonging to the Catholic and Evangelical churches in the provinces of Cabinda and Luanda.
The institutions that are taking part in this donation from Chevron are: Betania Community, Nazareth Community, Sisters of Mary Immaculate, S. José de Cluny Women’s Mission of Cabinda, Community of the Teresian Sisters of Malembo, Lourenço Amadeu, S. Tiago Maior Lândana, S. José Cluny Women’s Mission of Cacongo, Santo António Parish Men’s Mission, Community of Mercedarian Sisters of Charity of Lúcula-Zenze/ (Tando-Zinze), Lucula-Zenze Men’s Mission, and Caio Orphanage.
In Luanda, the Santa Bárbara Social Center of the Congregation of Our Lady of Muxima and the Little Seed Center will receive this donation.
The donation of the baskets aims to support the institutions named above by filling some of the needs experienced in supporting children in need who are sheltered in those institutions in Cabinda and Luanda.
The Provincial Secretary of Assistance and Social Reintegration of Cabinda, Dr. Maria Monica Manuel, and the Vicar of the Diocese of Cabinda, Father Francisco Nionje Capita, attended the presentation of the baskets.
“Chevron has a historical relationship with the province of Cabinda and its people. We are part of the communities where we operate. For the last five years we have been arranging the donation of a basket of basic foods as a contribution to the well-being of children,” stated Manuel Mingas, Policy, Government & Public Affairs Manager of the Cabinda Gulf Oil Company.
